Improved Saline Flush Syringe Invented by InventHelp Client (VET-476)
Date:6/11/2017

While proper hygiene and germ control are top priorities for hospital personnel, particularly when cleaning and flushing intravenous catheter ports and tubing, there is always room for improvement. That is exactly what an inventor from Las Vegas, Nev., had in mind when she thought of a way to further reduce the chances of bloodstream infections for patients receiving intravenous treatments.

She developed a prototype for the patent-pending SUPER SALINE to eliminate the need for a nurse to use a separate alcohol wipe for cleaning IV equipment. As such, it not only saves time and effort but has the potential to save lives by preventing bloodstream infections. Besides promoting sanitary conditions, it is safe, sturdy and easy to use. This invention is also lightweight, compact and portable. In addition, it is convenient, effective and affordably priced.

The inventor’s professional experience inspired the idea. “This idea is job related,” she said. “After working in the nursing field for several years, I discovered a need for an improved saline flush.”

The original design was submitted to the Las Vegas office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
