Imprivata is the Most Widely Selected Single Sign-On Solution by U.S. Hospitals Using Siemens Soarian Clinicals according to HIMSS Analytics
Date:8/7/2013

Lexington, Mass. (PRWEB) August 07, 2013

Imprivata®, a leading global provider of healthcare IT security solutions, today announced that Imprivata OneSign® is the most widely selected single sign-on (SSO) solution amongst U.S. hospitals using Siemens Soarian Clinicals with a 57 percent market share, according to the most recent data from HIMSS Analytics. Imprivata will showcase its SSO and authentication management solutions for Soarian as well as Imprivata Cortext®, its HIPAA-compliant secure text messaging application, in booth #900 at Siemens Innovations '13 for Healthcare IT (August 11-14, 2013 in San Diego, Calif.). Several partners will display Imprivata’s solutions during the event, including Siemens (in the Siemens Technology booth) and VMware (booth #710).

Imprivata OneSign enables Siemens Soarian customers to provide clinicians with fast, secure No Click Access™ to electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other clinical applications, allowing them to better focus on patient care. One such customer is Kaweah Delta Health Care District, a 581-bed healthcare system serving California’s Central Valley. To support the increasing mobility of its clinicians and provide roaming access to Soarian and other information at the point of care, Kaweah Delta delivers virtualized desktops to any device within the system. Kaweah Delta integrates Imprivata OneSign and proximity card readers at each endpoint to improve efficiency and clinical satisfaction while ensuring security and privacy of patient information within its virtual desktop environment.

“We have created an infrastructure to support the proliferation of mobile devices in our environment by providing a complete virtual desktop to clinicians that can be accessed from any computer or endpoint device,” said Dave Gravender, vice president and Chief Information Officer at Kaweah Delta. “By integrating Imprivata OneSign, our clinicians can quickly and securely access Siemens Soarian and other applications wherever and whenever they need it. The combination of desktop roaming and Imprivata OneSign saves 30-45 minutes per clinician, per shift, which is time that can be dedicated to what matters most—patient care.”

Imprivata OneSign is a leading identity and access management platform that simplifies healthcare IT by enabling clinicians to more quickly and easily access Siemens Soarian and other EMR systems to improve workflow efficiency, support HIPAA compliance, reduce IT costs and allow for better focus on patient care. At Siemens Innovations ’13 for Healthcare IT, Imprivata will also display Cortext, the company’s secure text messaging solution that enables clinicians to securely send text and picture messages from their smartphone, tablet or computer. Recently validated as HIPAA-compliant by ecfirst, a leading provider of compliance training and certification services, Imprivata Cortext improves communications efficiency and promotes broader collaboration while ensuring that patient information remains secure.

“The HIMSS Analytics market share data confirms that Siemens Soarian customers continue to rely on Imprivata to enable their clinicians to quickly and securely access patient information so they can focus on delivering high-quality patient care,” said Chris Shaw, senior vice president and general manager, OneSign Products Group at Imprivata. “While the HIMSS Analytics data is U.S.-specific, Siemens customers in other global markets also continue to adopt Imprivata’s solutions, and we encourage anyone attending Siemens Innovations ’13 for Healthcare IT to visit our booth to learn how Imprivata can help optimize data access and workflow efficiency as well as improve clinical communication and collaboration.”
