This seminar will offer students, employers, employees, attorneys and paralegals an overview of immigration law. Our goal is to educate foreign nationals in various visa statuses, including H-1B, L-1, TN, and E, and those on the path toward US permanent resident status. The seminar is intended to address the immigration issues and concerns of students & professionals in the changed economic conditions. In addition, we will inform attendees how best to position themselves for new employment (sponsorship) and retain their existing status or permanent resident process. U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization: What To Expect During The Naturalization Process

Understanding H-1b Visas (Employment Visa)

This seminar will be beneficial to employers, employees, attorneys and paralegals who want to understand how the H-1B Petition process works for American companies that utilize temporary professional workers in H-1B classification. For the first time in several years, the H-1B visa cap has not been met on the first day that H-1B visas have been available. It remains to be seen for how long the H-1B visa cap remains open and available. Topics covered will include the H-1B cap, which employers are exempt from the cap, the H-1B timeline, how to meet H-1B requirements, the Labor Condition Application, prevailing wage issues, how to prepare an H-1B Petition, common pitfalls for H-1B employers, and how H-1Bs relate to student visas and green cards (permanent residency).
