Ilitch Brings New Brand of Pilates to Metro Detroit With Opening of Studio in West Bloomfield
Date:11/20/2007

icates news, tips and additional information. Music fills the lobby area and boutique and the fresh scent of Seda France candles infuses the air. Visitors can even prepare their palate for a workout with vitamin-filled suckers that are emblazoned with the studio's logo.

"We wanted this to be anything but your typical Pilates or barre studio," Ilitch said. "We spent a considerable amount of time in the design phase walking in our clients' shoes. The result is that we are able to accommodate a broad range of guests and they get an experience that is truly focused on their needs."

Features like extra-long reformers to accommodate taller clients and studio floor padding that is 50 percent thicker than most studios to prevent foot injuries are just a few of the differentiating characteristics of Pure Element Pilates.

But, Ilitch points out that no matter how good the equipment, it's the instructors that make the difference. "Pure Element Pilates has what I believe is the top team of instructors in the area. All are highly qualified and each instructor contributes skills that help us tailor workouts to the many needs of our guests," she said. "For example, we have instructors trained for special populations such as our Pure Mature adults as well as, top team members trained to instruct serious athletes."

In addition to cutting-edge Pilates instruction, Pure Element Pilates boasts a retail boutique offering state-of-the-art Pilates clothing and accessories along with unique and hard-to-find health products and fitness accessories. Many of the items sold in the boutique, like E-Boost energy tablets and Loss Gloss lip gloss can't be found anywhere else in the state or region.

"Pure Element Pilates isn't like any other Pilates studio I've ever seen," added Ilitch. "We wanted everything about the experience to be unique to us, so we did a lot of research in choosing the very best products and services to offer our guests."
