AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Advisory Board of www.IWillAgain.com is proud to announce the launch of a new online community for athletes overcoming accident, illness or injury. IWillAgain.com is intended to serve as a forum where athletes can share stories, set goals and report progress, while simultaneously enabling others to share in their revival by providing encouragement, advice and mentoring.
IWillAgain.com is inspired by the experience of its founder, Mark Hager, a running enthusiast who was gravely injured in 2008 when a truck flew through a stop sign and ran him down. Mark spent weeks in the intensive care unit and in the months that followed experienced a swift physical recovery. However, his full recovery began only when a family friend reached out and suggested that he and Mark jointly set a goal to run a 10K race.
"I deeply believe that once medical care is over, the fullness of final recovery is driven by the strength of an individual's internal will," said Mark Hager. "It was the encouragement and inspiration of my family, friends and other athletes with similar experiences that helped rekindle my fire. It is this same community of supporters that keeps it burning today."
IWillAgain.com is a community where athletes at all levels, even those who were not involved in an activity prior to experiencing an accident, illness or injury, can share their experiences, publicly set new goals and eventually motivate others with their shared triumph.
"A little more than a year and a half ago I didn't know if I would be able to run again," said Mark Hager. "However, since I was motivated by a friend and inspired by another athlete's amazing story of recovery, I returned to running and was able to achieve my goal of completing a marathon. I hope that IWillAgain.com will become a source of encouragement, assistance and inspiration that will help other athletes achieve their current and future goals."
IWillAgain.com is a web community of support for athletes overcoming accident, illness, or injury by providing a forum for athletes to share their experiences, set goals and track progress. The website also enables others to actively support athlete progress by offering encouragement, advice, mentoring and prayer. Participation is free, the results are life changing.
