ISSA Applauds Cincinnati Trainer Anthony Reed for Dedication to Health Awareness

CARPINTERIA, Calif., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) applauds certified personal trainer Anthony Reed of Cincinnati, OH for his achievements in the wellness arena. Once weighing 591 lbs, Anthony lost 371 lbs during his own personal weight loss journey and now uses the knowledge, motivation, and energy that he has acquired to help those struggling with overweight and weight loss issues.

Undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 2005, Anthony subsequently committed himself to changing his lifestyle and educating himself on nutrition and exercise. He now weighs 210 lbs (a weight he has maintained for two years), jogs 6-10 miles a day, and consistently makes healthy food choices. Having figured out an exercise and diet program that works, he is a strong advocate of a healthy lifestyle and is quick to caution that, "Surgery is just a tool and should only be thought of that way."

As a nationally accredited provider of distance education, it is ISSA's mission to provide students with access to a comprehensive fitness education, enabling them to improve the health and fitness of our society. Anthony Reed embodies this mission: having sought after and obtained extensive nutrition and fitness knowledge, he now works to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles. Anthony and his fiancee, Katrina Dasenbrock, recently raised 7200 lbs in produce donations and handed out 500 bags of produce in an effort to raise awareness of produce in a healthy diet. He also does public speaking to schools, non-profit groups, and businesses.

Anthony has started a support group that meets every Thursday from 7pm - 9pm. His website lists the rotating location:

He also holds an online support group chat every Monday night at 8pm CST through his website.

The Tony Reed, Health & Fitness Guru call-in radio show can now be listened to on Sundays at 10am on Cincinnati's Oldies 1480 WDJO. The show can also be heard streaming live or by podcast at
