IOF announces 3 orthopaedic sessions at 2008 congress
Date:6/16/2008

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) has announced expanded opportunities for orthopaedic surgeons at the IOF World Congress on Osteoporosis 2008, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from December 3-7 2008. At three dedicated orthopaedic sessions, details below, orthopaedic surgeons can meet international experts to discuss specific clinical challenges and learn how best practice is applied in different regions of the world.

"We have decided to focus in this year's congress on the importance of orthopaedic surgeons in the fight against osteoporosis. They are frequently the first, and often the only physicians to see fracture patients, and therefore have a key role in ensuring the patient is adequately evaluated for osteoporosis and treated," said Professor Cyrus Cooper, Chairman, IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors, and Chairman, IOF World Congress on Osteoporosis 2008 Scientific Committee.
