Football is more than an international pastime; it’s a sport that has fans far and wide. As with all athletic endeavors, intense games and practices can lead to minor, major and career-ending injuries. However, footballers around the globe, as well as the physiotherapists who train them, are learning about the most innovative methods to help the body heal itself faster and with less chance of long-lasting detrimental effects. One such method is the use of hydrotherapy in a HydroWorx pool with an embedded underwater treadmill floor.
St. George’s Park National Football Centre has embraced HydroWorx hydrotherapy technologies as a means of getting footballers back on the pitch, and other athletes in the best shape of their lives. On Monday, June 24, 2013, from 9:00-14:00, hydrotherapy experts, including a Premier League physiotherapist, will offer a practical, energetic seminar related to advanced water therapy in order to give attendees ways to help healthy athletes maintain their fitness levels through cross-training in a HydroWorx pool; and assist injured athletes in their quest to get back in the game as quickly and safely as possible.
This one-day event offers an introduction to the value of aquatic therapy for performance and rehabilitation. Throughout the informally-structured event featuring hands-on, experiential learning, participants will:
