Hydrocephalus Association Taps iShare as Unique Fundraising Source
Date:5/13/2013

Stowe, VT / Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) May 13, 2013

The Hydrocephalus Association, a nonprofit supporting those whose lives have been touched by Hydrocephalus, recently discovered a new fundraising strategy that allows its backers to donate to the organization without altering their budgets or setting extra money aside, called iShare.

iShare is a charitable giving program created by promotional products specialist Image Outfitters that allows customers to divert 10% of their order revenue to the charity of their choice in the form of a donation. In the program’s first year over $12,000 was donated to charity, primarily by businesses ordering customized promotional products and then selecting charities operating in their communities.

“Any 501 (c)(3) nonprofit is eligible to receive donations through iShare, and my customers at Image Outfitters have chosen roughly two dozen different beneficiary organizations so far,” says Esbert Cardenas, CEO of Image Outfitters and founder of iShare. “What has been interesting recently, though, is seeing how nonprofits like the Hydrocephalus Association are leveraging the power of iShare and encouraging their supporters to shop with us and simultaneously support their cause.”

Every Image Outfitters customer is eligible to donate 10% of the sales from their order to any nonprofit organization through iShare. The program was launched in April 2012, and has given nearly $13,000 to charity thus far.

“I have high hopes for the future of iShare,” adds Cardenas. “This was never meant to be a short-term offer, and while the results for various nonprofits have been positive in the program’s first year, I’m really excited to see how much money we can give to charity if we keep this pace for a few more years.”
