Huntsville Hospital Signs With Health Care Systems, Inc. for Automated Medication Reconciliation Services

MONTGOMERY, Ala. and HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Care Systems, Inc. (HCS), a leading provider of medication safety solutions and the market leader in medication reconciliation solutions, has entered into an agreement with Huntsville Hospital System, one of the largest locally owned not-for-profit hospitals in the nation with 881 licensed acute care beds. Huntsville Hospital serves as a teaching facility for The University of Alabama at Birmingham's Family Medicine Residency Program in Huntsville. In addition, the hospital serves as a primary site for more than 50 national drug research projects. Huntsville Hospital System has used HCS Medication Reconciliation house-wide since March 2008.

HCS Medication Reconciliation, Health Care Systems' automated medication history service, enables reducing preventable adverse medication events, promoting operational efficiencies, and improving compliance with The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goal 8a. HCS Medication Reconciliation provides hospitals with the ability to retrieve community pharmacy prescription fill and refill information at the time of patient admission.
