Humboldt Storage & Moving to Partner with March for Babies

Premier March of Dimes Fundraising Event

BOSTON, April 8, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The March of Dimes Massachusetts Chapter is pleased to announce that Humboldt Storage & Moving of Canton will serve as a statewide corporate partner for March for Babies in Massachusetts. Formerly known as WalkAmerica, March for Babies is the March of Dimes premier fundraising event that benefits all babies -- those born healthy as well as those who need help to survive and thrive.

"Humboldt Storage and Moving is proud to be part of this national movement to ensure that every baby has a healthy start in life," stated James Sullivan, president of Humboldt. "Everyone can be a champion for baby health by signing up for March for Babies." And we will work very hard to do our part. We were approached by the March of Dimes for a unique opportunity to provide storage space & delivery of items associated with several events across the state and everyone involved with this initiative will do their best to minimize the stress that comes with putting on a large-scale fundraising event."

"The involvement of high profile local leaders across the nation is a key element in our goal of helping more babies come into the world healthy," said Ed Doherty, State Director of the Massachusetts Chapter. "We are fortunate to have someone so committed to our cause."

Premature birth touches half a million babies and their families every year including 8,000 babies in Massachusetts. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have disabilities. More than 120,000 babies are born with serious birth defects that can mean a lifetime of disability. Babies born healthy need champions, too, to ensure they have access to newborn screening and preventive health care. The March of Dimes is there for all babies.

In Massachusetts, March for Babies will take place in eight sites on Saturdays & Sundays from April 19, 2008 through May 4, 2008. Massachusetts residen
