Humble, TX Dentist, Dr. Damon Huffman Now Offers Laser Periodontal Disease Treatment to Gum Disease Patients
Date:5/23/2013

Humble, TX (PRWEB) May 23, 2013

Dr. Damon Huffman of Huffman Family Dentistry is now able to offer patients who suffer from gum disease a revolutionary new treatment method with the Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure. There are actually millions of Americans who suffer from periodontal disease, and many of them do not visit dental professionals to arrange for treatment. Dr. Huffman is hoping that LANAP will encourage many of those people to learn about periodontal disease treatment.

Periodontal disease can cause gums to recede and even lead to tooth loss. Bad breath, open wounds in the gums and other problems can result. In addition to the dental problems that gum disease can cause, it has been linked to other health problems that are quite serious. Some of these include pancreatic cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, head and neck cancer and diabetes. Getting treatment can help lower the risk of these problems as well as improve oral health.

LANAP is the only procedure of its kind that is fully cleared by the FDA, and Dr. Huffman is one of only one percent of dental professionals that have become certified in this procedure. The PerioLase MVP-7 laser is specifically designed to attack the bacteria and diseased gum tissue and remove it from the mouth. However, it does not affect the remaining healthy tissue negatively. This leaves more healthy tissue that has been stimulated to re-attach to the tooth. In addition, the laser can stimulate bone regeneration to help stop bone loss in the affected teeth.
