SINGAPORE, April 1 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Hospital Build Asia Exhibition and Congress 2009 starts today at Suntec International Conference and Exhibition Centre, Singapore, from April 1-3 2009. Dedicated to the business of managing hospitals in Asia, Hospital Build Asia is opened by John Hassett, Managing Director of IIR Exhibitions, Middle East and Asia.

Opportunities abound in today's healthcare landscape in Asia. Even the current economic environment presents growth prospects that hospital administrators and healthcare decision makers can leverage in order to deliver profitable growth. This was the key message delivered by industry thought leaders and healthcare leaders at the 'Leaders in Healthcare Congress' at Hospital Build Asia.

World-class insights for healthcare community

The highlight of Hospital Build Asia is the congress series, which consists of eight world-class conferences covering different aspects of healthcare, including financing, planning, designing, building, operating, managing and refurbishing of healthcare facilities in Asia. Over 75 thought leaders and experts from the region and worldwide have gathered at the event to share insights, trends, and knowledge that will benefit the development and expansion of healthcare facilities and businesses in Asia. The congress series will be attended by 650 regional and international delegates.

Regional and international leading companies offering healthcare products and services will also be showcasing their cutting-edge technologies and innovative business solutions at the event. Over 80 healthcare suppliers will be exhibiting at the Hospital Build Asia exhibition, including Siemens, PricewaterhouseCoopers, i-SOFT, Vamed, Steris, Karl Storz, Draeger Medical, Australian Hospital Design Group, AirLiquide, Messer Cutting & Welding GmbH, Soxal, and many more.

Andrew Keable, Divisional Director, Life Sciences Division, IIR Asia Pacific said, "Hospital Build Asia marks a new beginning for Asia's healthcare companies, as members of the industry now have a truly unique platform to share and gain valuable insights and knowledge that will develop and expand their businesses and services. We are confident that the region's healthcare community will benefit from this world-class hospital exhibition and congress experience, and use this as a springboard to build world-class facilities based on international standards."

Dr. David Levy, MD, Global Healthcare Sector Leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers said, "PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Healthcare has worked on some of the most ambitious healthcare projects throughout the Middle East, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. These have given us a broad perspective on innovations and solutions driving the future of healthcare delivery. As a leader in global healthcare advisory, PricewaterhouseCoopers' participation in Hospital Build Asia enables us to contribute to the emergence of a connected and patient-centric healthcare delivery system that is based on global insights and best practices. Such events accelerate the exchange of ideas and innovations that will drive the future direction and sustainability of healthcare systems around the world."

International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, the lead government agency promoting the overseas growth of Singapore-based enterprises and international trade, is a key partner of Hospital Build Asia. The event is also supported by other Singapore government agencies, including the Economic Development Board, Singapore Medicine, Exploit Technologies (A member of A*STAR), and SPRING Singapore, as well as industry associations like the Singapore Medical Association, Malaysian Medical Association, Cambodia Medical Association, Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association, and Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives.

Our healthcare services, products and infrastructure are synonymous with excellence, quality and innovation. Through this event, we hope that industry players not only gain insights on the trends and development of the global healthcare landscape, but also learn more about how Singapore's healthcare hardware and software providers can complement the existing solutions in their home countries."
