Hospice Caring, Inc. Earns Seal of Excellence and Elects New Board Member

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Hospice Caring, Inc. has been awarded the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations' Seal of Excellence for successfully completing the Standards for Excellence certification program. Hospice Caring voluntarily submitted to a rigorous peer review examining its compliance with the Maryland Nonprofits Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.

Standards for Excellence are based upon fundamental values such as honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, responsibility and accountability. Hospice Caring's programs and services, management, fundraising and financial practices were examined in depth before the certification was awarded. Hospice Caring is one of the first organizations to be certified under the Standards program that began in 1998. There are over 12,000 nonprofits in the State of Maryland and less than 75 hold this seal of excellence.

Hospice Caring also wishes to announce the election of a new Board member, Patricia Brennan-Gac. Ms. Brennan-Gac is an attorney and education policy expert who possesses a background in nonprofit management. She is currently a Vice President with Washington Partners, a DC-based consulting firm. Ms. Brennan-Gac was elected to the Hospice Caring Board of Directors by unanimous vote on November 1st, 2007.
