Palatine, Illinois (PRWEB) July 13, 2014
Hope Palliative & Hospice Care announced today that they will be facilitating a monthly grief support group at the Tamarack Senior Living Community in Palatine, IL. The group, called “New Beginnings” will be held at 10:30 A.M. on the 3rd Wednesdays of every month. This group will begin on Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 at the Tamarack Community located at 55 S. Greeley St. Palatine, IL 60067. It is open to all bereaved individuals and there is no cost for the group.
“A grief support group is a meeting of people who have all experienced the death of a loved one," said Lauren Ivory, Senior Chaplain and Bereavement Specialist for Hope Hospice. "During this time, people are free to talk about what the experience has been like and share with others who have had similar experiences. The group is confidential and each person is given the chance to share as much or as little as they would like. If you are having a difficult time sleeping, eating, crying a lot, worry about burdening your family with sadness, then a grief group might be ideal for you.”
Angela Click, Assistant Administrator for Hope Palliative and Hospice Care welcomes this collaboration. “We are so grateful to the Tamarack Senior Community for collaborating with us on this effort to provide grief support to our community. We know there are many people grieving alone, and we want them to know they do not have to.”
The group will be led by Hope Hospice’s Social Worker Veronica Douglas-Walker, LCSW and Chaplain Lauren Ivory, MDiv., BCC. Veronica Douglas-Walker, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker under the states of Illinois and Indiana. She is experienced in providing individual, family, couple therapy and group counseling services for children through senior populations. Lauren Ivory, M.Div., BCC is a health care chaplain, board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains. Cha
