Hope For The Warriors Honors Wounded and Families of the Fallen at Run For The Warriors

Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Sunset Run For The Warriors®, held once again in Shelton, CT. The race will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2013 and this year, includes a 5K distance along with the 10K and 1-Mile Walk/Run. Registration is $20 with special pricing for active duty military, military family members, veterans and students. Wounded service members and Gold Star families register for free. In keeping with tradition, this event will begin with an opening ceremony at 4:15 p.m., including singing of the National Anthem. The opening ceremony honors local wounded heroes and families of the fallen. It provides a time to remember those who have given of themselves in the line of duty. The races themselves begin at 5 p.m.

"The Run For The Warriors® was created as a means to thank our service members for their sacrifices," Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® president said. "We are thankful to the city of Shelton for supporting this race."

All proceeds will benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
