Hope Animal Rescues Wins Synthetic Turf International’s Better Play & Recreation Contest
Date:7/25/2013

(PRWEB) July 25, 2013

Hope Animal Rescues - a no-kill animal rescue in Godfrey, Illinois that has saved the lives of thousands of dogs - has won Synthetic Turf International’s Better Play & Recreation Contest. The non-profit organization will receive the grand prize of a synthetic turf installation worth up to $50,000, which will conserve resources while providing a more sanitary outdoor environment for the animals they serve.

“Our volunteers and adopters were over the moon excited about winning this contest,” explained Jackie Spiker, Co-Founder of Hope Animal Rescues. “Having the synthetic turf for our pets will help us reduce maintenance costs, as we were spending over $300.00 per month watering sod, and give the dogs a great play area in which to run and enjoy!”

Synthetic Turf International (STI) launched its Better Play & Recreation Contest to recognize non-profit groups that work tirelessly to make a positive difference in their communities. Nearly 4,000 votes were received online during the contest’s public voting period, with Hope Animal Rescues garnering over 40% of the total vote. Their new synthetic turf pet recreation area will be installed at the end of September, 2013.

Hope Animal Rescues (http://www.hoperescues.com) is committed to engaging and serving local communities of people and animals. The state-licensed, all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue helps save dogs on their last day of life from animal control facilities. Their goals are to promote spay/neuter, stop the use of gas chambers to kill our homeless pets, and to educate people on how to treat all animals with respect and dignity. To date Hope has saved 1,920 dogs and re-homed 1,785 dogs through their adoption program.

In addition to Hope Animal Rescues, the other nine contest finalists included Alma Pre-School- Castro Valley Unified School Dis
