HomeTask CEO Jerrod Sessler Announces Support for Washington State Initiative 522
Date:9/30/2013

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 30, 2013

HomeTask CEO Jerrod Sessler, and Founder of Freggies (organic delivery service), recently announced his support for Washington State Initiative 522, which according to Yes on 522’s website would “give Washington shoppers more information about what’s in their food and control over their shopping decisions.” Initiative 522 would require “genetically engineered foods, including corn or soy, or foods with genetically engineered ingredients like chips, cold cereals, soft drinks, and candy [to] be required to be labeled noting that the food or processed food has been genetically engineered.” Health and consumer food choices has long been a passion of Sessler, which has meant that this initiative is not just an ethical decision, but an emotional one as well.

In 1999 Jerrod was diagnosed with stage four metastasized melanoma, and given a five percent chance of survival. Instead of pursuing traditional treatment, Jerrod opted to pursue alternative means of treatment by moving to a plant-based diet. Now, over ten years after his grim diagnosis, Sessler is cancer free and has become an advocate for others to pursue their own health and fitness goals. Recently, Sessler stated that “Initiative 522 makes common sense. Consumers should have the power to make wise decisions regarding their food choices. This initiative would educate consumers and give them the opportunity to turn down unhealthy foods that have been genetically modified.” This passion for pursuing a healthy lifeestyle led Sessler to start Freggies, an organic fruits and vegetable delivery service that serves the greater Seattle, Washington area. Freggies was started with the same desire that is seen in I-522—that consumers would have as many opportunities as possible to pursue healthy choices and live a full and joyous life. Sessler can be reached for further contact on I-522 or Freggies by e-mailing pr(at)hometask(dot)com
