Home Care Delivered, Inc. Recognizes 21st Annual American Diabetes Alert Day
Date:3/24/2009

In conjunction with American Diabetes Alert Day, Home Care Delivered reinforces the benefits of their home-delivery supply program designed to help patients with diabetes better manage their condition from home.

RICHMOND, Va., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Care Delivered, Inc., a leading mail-order provider of diabetes testing supplies, joins the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to "sound the alert" on Tuesday, March 24th for the 21st annual American Diabetes Alert Day. American Diabetes Alert Day is held to raise awareness about the seriousness of diabetes and its exponential growth across America.

According to the ADA, diabetes affects 23.6 million children and adults in the United States, and nearly one-quarter of that population does not know they have diabetes. Today one in five Americans is at risk for developing type 2 diabetes; however, early diagnosis and treatment can delay or prevent serious complications including blindness, amputations, heart disease and kidney failure.

"At Home Care Delivered, we follow up with our patients regularly to make sure they have the supplies they need and reinforce the importance of regular blood glucose testing," said Director of Clinical Resources Terri Decker, RN, CWOCN. "Through supporting our patients in diabetes management, we hope to help them avoid the serious and sometimes deadly complications associated with type 2 diabetes."

Home Care Delivered's personalized follow-up program reinforces proper diabetes management by ensuring patients have the supplies they need to remain compliant with their physician's prescribed plan of care. Through its proprietary PayerPro management system, the company offers billing and claims filing services for Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance plans. Home Care Delivered's Nurse-On-Call program is another value-added service that provides access to a registered nurse for product support.
