Holistic Medical Practice Announces New Series of Natural Medicine Classes for Seattle Families at No Cost.
Date:5/29/2013

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 29, 2013

Integra Natural Wellness LLC is kicking off a new series of free classes with a presentation on “Easing the Transition: Natural Approaches to a Restful Summer” on Sunday, June 2nd from 3-4PM. This will be the first in an ongoing series of talks that the practice will offer on topics relevant to parents and families interested in natural medicine.

"We find that many parents want to know more about natural healthcare, and how to use herbs, supplements and food to improve their family’s health," says naturopathic physician and co-founder Dr. Carrie McMillin, ND. "With so much information to wade through on the internet, in books and magazines, and even from friends and family, it is difficult to separate fact from opinion. And honestly, it’s overwhelming. We wanted to help parents navigate this information in a helpful way with monthly classes and workshops.”

One of the most common issues parents struggle with is making sure kids get enough sleep. Often sleep disturbances are dismissed as 'normal' by doctors, but the physicians of Integra recognize the importance of remedying sleep problems early on. McMillin and co-founder Dr. Bethany Glynn, ND assert that when kids don’t get adequate sleep it affects not only their own behavior, but impacts the entire family in many ways. In offering their first free class, they aim to help children get the sleep they need through the most effective herbal, nutritional and behavioral approaches available, and thereby help the whole family reach its full health potential as well.

“We have always been passionate about community outreach," stated Glynn, "and offering monthly classes on various topics pertaining to anxiety, autism, ADHD and parenting in general seemed like a natural fit for us. We wanted to provide a way for parents to have access to concise information from a reliable source, a forum for their questions to be answered, and a place where they can find support from other parents dealing with similar situations.”

More detailed information on the Integra Natural Wellness complimentary class series can be found on their website at http://www.integranaturalwellness.com under the 'Community Outreach Classes' tab. Classes will take place at Integra's Seattle location - 2811 E. Madison Street, Ste. 203 in Madison Valley - and at Thrive Supplements - 48 Front Street N, Issaquah WA 98027 - at least once per month during the summer.
