Holistic Medical Practice Announces New Series of Natural Medicine Classes for Seattle Families at No Cost.

Integra Natural Wellness LLC is kicking off a new series of free classes with a presentation on “Easing the Transition: Natural Approaches to a Restful Summer” on Sunday, June 2nd from 3-4PM. This will be the first in an ongoing series of talks that the practice will offer on topics relevant to parents and families interested in natural medicine.

"We find that many parents want to know more about natural healthcare, and how to use herbs, supplements and food to improve their family’s health," says naturopathic physician and co-founder Dr. Carrie McMillin, ND. "With so much information to wade through on the internet, in books and magazines, and even from friends and family, it is difficult to separate fact from opinion. And honestly, it’s overwhelming. We wanted to help parents navigate this information in a helpful way with monthly classes and workshops.”

One of the most common issues parents struggle with is making sure kids get enough sleep. Often sleep disturbances are dismissed as 'normal' by doctors, but the physicians of Integra recognize the importance of remedying sleep problems early on. McMillin and co-founder Dr. Bethany Glynn, ND assert that when kids don’t get adequate sleep it affects not only their own behavior, but impacts the entire family in many ways. In offering their first free class, they aim to help children get the sleep they need through the most effective herbal, nutritional and behavioral approaches available, and thereby help the whole family reach its full health potential as well.

“We have always been passionate about community outreach," stated Glynn, "and offering monthly classes on various topics pertaining to anxiety, autism, ADHD and parenting in general seemed like a natural fit for us.
