Highlands Ranch, CO Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Michael R. Varley Introduces New Treatment for TMJ Disorder
Date:7/18/2013

Highlands Ranch, CO (PRWEB) July 18, 2013

Dr. Michael R. Varley of Highlands Ranch, CO recently introduced a new resolution for patients suffering from temporomandibular joint disorders, most commonly referred to as TMJ. With this new treatment, Dr. Varley is able to relieve bit disorders, jaw pain, and headaches, and other discomfort often associated with this condition.

The term ‘TMJ’ refers to the joint at which the temporal and mandibular jaw bones meet, joined by the cartilage much like that of the ear. TMJ occurs in the muscles and directly affects teeth. TMJ disorders, also called TMD, are typically caused by grinding or clenching teeth, osteoarthritis, stress, or the result of an injury to the mouth or jaw. Even worse, TMJ or TMD, can cause face, neck and back pain, clicking and popping of the jaw, difficulty chewing, and face swelling.

Dr. Varley now offers a device called the NTI (Nociceptive, which means that it relates to the perception of things that could be harmful; Trigeminal, which is the nerve that controls the major muscle of chewing or biting; Inhibition) to help the body reset the muscle memory which caused the symptoms. The custom-fit, clear, plastic mouthpiece eliminates the need for surgery and can resolve symptoms of TMJ disorder within a month, and for some, within a few days.

“This breakthrough device is really changing so many lives,” said Highlands, CO TMJ Dentist Dr. Michael R. Varley. “Patients come to our practice experiencing severe pain and we are happy that we’re able to relieve their pain without any complications or necessary surgery.”

Dr. Michael R. Varley and his staff consider their patients’ comfort the top priority. In addition to treating TMJ disorder, he offers a wide range of general and cosmetic dentistry, including dental implants, endodontic therapies, extract
