Highlands Acquisition Corp. Announces Exercise of Over-Allotment Option

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Highlands Acquisition Corp. (Amex: HIA.U), (the "Company") announced today that the underwriters for the Company's initial public offering have exercised in full their over-allotment option relating to the Company's initial public offering. As a result, the Company sold an additional 1,800,000 units with each unit consisting of one share of common stock and one warrant to purchase one share of common stock. The 1,800,000 units sold pursuant to the over-allotment option were sold at an offering price of $10.00 per unit, generating total gross proceeds of $18,000,000. Of this amount, $17,280,000 (or approximately $9.60 per unit) has been placed in trust, including $540,000 of deferred underwriters discounts and commissions.

A registration statement relating to the units was filed and declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
