LANCASTER, Pa., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Herley Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: HRLY) announced today that its Farmingdale, New York subsidiary, Herley Farmingdale, has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $5 million by EDO Communication & Countermeasures Systems. Herley Farmingdale will produce high power amplifiers for EDO's CVRJ (CREW Vehicle Receiver/Jammer) system.
Myron Levy, Herley's Chairman and CEO, commented, "EDO has recently announced awards with options for as many as 25,000 of its CVRJ systems, from the Naval Sea Systems Command and the Program Executive Office for Littoral and Mine Warfare. The vehicle-mounted systems will be used by forces in each of the military services. Herley has invested financial and engineering resources to develop the technology required for this EW system, and we believe that we can be an important supplier to EDO for the long-term.
