Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) November 06, 2013
Heritage Woods of South Elgin, a BMA affordable assisted living community, will host several events to honor veterans on Nov. 11.
The community, which is located at 700 N. McLean Blvd. in South Elgin, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid.
Chefs from the community will prepare waffles that are made to order with red (strawberries), white (whipped cream) and blue (blueberries) for a free breakfast that will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Senior Services, 101 S. Grove Street, Elgin.
At 2:30 p.m., we will celebrate Veteran's Day with a performance from a jazz band that is currently playing at the Green Mill Lounge in Chicago. The Alan Gresik Band is a group of accomplished jazz musicians with a fantastic show that includes dueling pianos. Our guests will receive patriotic treats from Grahams Chocolate.
Heritage Woods will also host its monthly Veterans Dinner from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Veterans will be seated with their guests and Heritage Woods residents, so they can socialize and share stories.
These events are free and open to the public. The jazz performance and veterans dinner will take place at Heritage Woods.
"Join us as we honor veterans with a day filled with activities to thank them for their service to our country," said Director of Marketing Andrea Lillie.
