Heritage Woods of Rockford, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is partnering with Heartland Hospice to host a remembrance service at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19.
The community, which is located at 202 N. Show Place Dr. in Rockford, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
As the holidays approach and the year comes to a close, Heritage Woods invited the Heartland staff to help people prepare for what can be a difficult and emotional time of year.
“Our remembrance service is a great opportunity to share your experiences and learn about resources to help you recall special memories and rebuild your life,” said Director of Marketing Yvonne Peterson.

The Heritage Woods of Rockford affordable assisted living community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications and a variety of convenience and support services.
Each of the private studio and one-bedroom apartments at Heritage Woods includes a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special events," says Peterson.
