Heritage Woods of Rockford Affordable Assisted Living to Host Flu Shot Clinic
Date:9/23/2013

Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) September 23, 2013

Heritage Woods of Rockford, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is partnering with the Winnebago County Health Department to host a flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 17.

The community, which is located at 202 N. Show Place Dr. in Rockford, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

“Skip the doctor’s visit and get your flu shot at Heritage Woods this year,” said Yvonne Peterson, Director of Marketing for the community.

Those interested in getting a flu shot should bring photo identification and insurance information. Cost is $25 for anyone who would like to pay for the shots out-of-pocket.

Refreshments will be served, and attendees will have an opportunity to win door prizes.

For more information about the flu shot clinic or Heritage Woods, call 815-332-3700.

The Heritage Woods of Rockford affordable assisted living community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications and a variety of convenience and support services.

Each of the private studio and one-bedroom apartments at Heritage Woods includes a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special events," says Peterson.

Heritage Woods is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.

"Our focus," says Rod Burkett, CEO and President of BMA, "is to provide residents at Heritage Woods of Rockford with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve and the help and assistance that they need. Our emphasis is on helping each resident to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible."
