Heritage Woods of Chicago Affordable Assisted Living to Offer Senior Fitness Classes
Date:5/31/2013

Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) May 31, 2013

Heritage Woods of Chicago, a BMA affordable assisted living community, will be offering Senior Fitness Classes at 9:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the month of June.

The community, which is located at Fulton and California of Chicago's west side, serves low income older adults, including those on Medicaid who need some help to maintain their independence.

"The exercise classes are designed to be fun and help you increase your fitness," says Cindy Gladney, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Chicago. The exercises can be done while sitting in a chair and are open to all seniors. There is no cost to attend.

For more information about the classes or Heritage Woods of Chicago, call Gladney at 773-722-2900.

"We provide low income older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Gladney. "Residents benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in social activities and wellness programs such as our Senior Fitness classes," says Gladney.

The Heritage Woods of Chicago affordable assisted living community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program, which enables the community to serve those on Medicaid. The community is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.

"Our focus," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA Management, "Is on providing residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve. Our emphasis is on helping each resident to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible."

Based in Bradley, Illinois, BMA Management operates 36 assisted living, senior living and memory care communities that together house nearly 3,400 homes and apartments.

Communities managed by BMA include the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living communities in Gurnee, Batavia, Bolingbrook, McHenry, Plainfield and Yorkville, Illinois.

BMA also operates the Churchview Supportive Living community on Chicago's southwest side, and the Heritage Woods of South Elgin affordable assisted living and memory care community.

BMA will be managing the St. Anthony affordable assisted living community that will be opening in Lansing, Illinois later this year.
