Heritage Woods of Chicago – a BMA affordable assisted living community – is hosting a luau on Wednesday, Aug. 21. The celebration will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Heritage Woods.
The community, which is located on Chicago's west side at 2800 W. Fulton St. in Chicago, Illinois, serves low-income older adults, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
“Enjoy a real Hawaiian experience during our luau. Professional dancers will teach you the secrets of belly dancing and how to move your hips while doing the hula dance,” said Cindy Gladney, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Chicago.
Guests will learn about Hawaiian traditions and culture. The menu will include Hawaiian foods, exotic fruits and tropical drinks.
There is no charge to attend the celebration.

The Heritage Woods of Chicago affordable assisted living community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., of Bradley, Illinois.
The community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
