Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Warren Campus recently deployed a new communications solution, PerfectServe, to connect its doctors and nurses so they can better coordinate care.

Warren, MI (PRWEB) Sept. 30, 2009 -- Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Warren Campus recently deployed a new communications solution, PerfectServe, to connect its doctors and nurses so they can better coordinate care.

"A significant problem in healthcare today is the lack of adequate communication," said Joanna Pease, D.O., vice president of medical affairs at Henry Ford Macomb - Warren. "We are addressing this communication issue in many ways, and PerfectServe is part of our strategy."

The hospital implemented PerfectServe to link every physician on staff via a single phone number. PerfectServe will enable clinicians to easily connect with the right physician in the right way, while enabling physicians to selectively filter and control the communications they receive. Clinical communication occurs faster, with greater efficiency and safety, and less hassle.

"Our nurses contact physicians at least four or five times per shift," said Josephine Wahl, vice president of patient care and chief nursing officer. "Before PerfectServe, they experienced problems reaching physicians at least once out of every three attempts. Now, with PerfectServe, we are finding that our nurses are able to reach physicians quicker and more easily, reducing delays in care."

Henry Ford Warren's sister facility, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Clinton Township, began using PerfectServe in 2006.
