constituents

BETHESDA, Md., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Lagan, a provider of enterprise case management solutions that streamline the delivery of public services to constituents, today announced that Hennepin County, Minnesota has selected Lagan Human Services(TM) to support the county's e-Government initiative for its Human Services and Public Health Department (HSPHD). The offering, part of the award-winning Lagan Enterprise Case Management(TM) (ECM) suite of solutions, will support the County's Direct Connect and Specialized Housing initiatives to provide easier and more consistent access to information and services for constituents.

The goal of the Direct Connect project is to allow the more than one million residents of the County to obtain what they need, be it basic information or multiple services, through any point of contact - via the web, telephone, face-to-face, fax and email. The goals of the Specialized Housing project are to locate appropriate housing vacancies for HSPHD clients as well as to analyze client data and service provider performance. Lagan Human Services will support the multichannel service delivery requirements and provide eligibility and case management for the County's government transformation initiatives.

"We created a Human Services and Public Health Department that merged multiple departments into one, so we have an opportunity to provide constituents with easier and more consistent access to a breadth of services," said Don Holmberg, Chief Information Officer, Hennepin County HSPHD. "We selected Lagan Human Services because of its ability to facilitate improved communication between workers, easily share information and resources, integrate with existing information systems and assess a client's needs from a holistic viewpoint. Since Lagan Human Services is designed specifically for government, it has the flexibility and scalability required to help us create a seamless service delivery system for county residents while providing a low total cost of ownership."

As a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution, Lagan Human Services includes preconfigured components and pre-built best practice-based content; it is quickly mastered by case workers and administrators alike. Its innovative case management approach offers features including:

-- Standardized, in-depth risk assessment and complex service plan

management

-- Automatic alerts and escalations for efficient handling of emergencies

-- Rules-based case prioritization and workflow

-- Secure cross-agency referral tracking

-- Seamless integration with existing systems

-- Standardized information request response and service delivery across

multiple access channels

"We are impressed with Hennepin County's commitment to e-Government as an initiative that can help enhance service delivery in an era of ever-tightening budgets and rising constituent expectations for quality service," said Claudia Langguth, President, Lagan North America.
