Heartwood Home Health & Hospice Announced for the 2013 HealthInsight Quality Award HealthInsight Program Encourages Excellence in Patient Care
Date:1/12/2014

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) January 12, 2014

Today, HealthInsight, a private, non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to improving health and health care in Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, presented the 2013 HealthInsight Quality Award to Heartwood Home Health & Hospice of West Jordan, Utah. This is Heartwood Home Health & Hospice second time winning the prestigious award the first was in 2010.

HealthInsight Quality Award recipients are selected for completing a quality improvement project and demonstrating high quality health care and excellence in performance on publicly reported quality of care measures and other specified quality markers. These measures come from data that are voluntarily reported by home health agencies across the nation. The national home health rankings used to select recipients are available by visiting http://www.healthinsight.org.

"We are honored to commend these outstanding home health agencies that exemplify the improvement of health care quality and outcomes for the residents of our state," said Marc Bennett, HealthInsight President and CEO. "Their commitment to excellence in health care delivery is evidenced by their achievement of this award.”

Heartwood Home Health & Hospice will be recognized at the Utah Association for Home Care Holiday Award Luncheon at Le Jardin in Sandy, Utah.

The HealthInsight Quality Award program was launched in September 2004 to promote transparency in health care. According to the Institute of Medicine, transparency in health care is defined as a system that is “accountable to the public, works openly
