Healthpointe Invites All Aspiring Pilots to Complete an FAA Certified Exam

FAA-certified medical exams are required for anyone seeking to pilot an airplane, helicopter, gyroplan or airship, and should be completed prior to starting flight training. Those hoping to pilot balloons and gliders are exempt from the medical certificate requirement.

The purpose of the physical exam is to alert potential pilots and contractors of any conditions that may impede or prevent safe aviation. By detecting these conditions early, the physicians at Healthpointe may be able to counter any adverse effects and keep patients on track toward receiving their aviation certificates.

There are three designated medical certificates: first-class, second-class, and third-class. The certificates are designated for: airline transport pilots; commercial pilots; and student, recreational, and private pilots, respectively. Healthpointe’s own Dr. Gabriel Martin Del Campo now offers certificates in the second and third-class designations. A second-class certificate for commercial pilots is valid for 12 months. A third-class certificate for student, recreational, and private pilots is valid for 60 months for aviators under the age of 40, and for 24 months for pilots over the age of 40. An off
