Date:7/14/2008

NEW YORK and PARSIPPANY, N.J., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthfirst has contracted with MD On-Line, Inc. to offer providers a free online service for electronic claims submissions. This new service makes it easier for physicians and other medical providers to do business with the health plan by streamlining the transaction process, resulting in a faster exchange of information, higher acceptance rates and quicker payment cycles. All healthcare providers who work with the organization can submit claims directly to Healthfirst via http://www.healthfirstny.com and http://www.healthfirstnj.com.

"MD On-Line enables providers to take advantage of the benefits and cost-savings associated with electronic transactions," said David Gutwald, Vice President of Operations at Healthfirst. "We are pleased to be able to give our providers, especially those who currently submit paper claims, an opportunity to participate in this program."

Providers utilizing the transaction portal can elect to submit only Healthfirst transactions free of charge or subscribe for all-payer connectivity. Claim data entry and batch upload options are made available through the portal.

"We are excited to work with Healthfirst to provide free, web-based solutions," said Bill Bartzak, president and CEO of MD On-Line. "At MD On-Line, we understand and anticipate the changing needs of both payers and providers, and are committed to technological innovation and excellence. This is another great example of how payers are working hard at streamlining processes for their providers."
