Healthcare Pioneer Dr. Ralph Snyderman to Receive Frost & Sullivan's Lifetime Achievement Award

Award to be Presented at the 2008 Excellence in Healthcare Innovation

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce that the firm will be presenting Dr. Ralph Snyderman, Chancellor Emeritus of Duke University and founder of healthcare technology company Proventys, with its 2008 North American Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Award will be presented at Frost & Sullivan's 2008 Excellence in Healthcare Innovation Awards banquet that will take place on November 12, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas.

The Healthcare Innovation Awards are given to companies that have made a significant contribution to the delivery and management of healthcare. Such companies have shown success at meeting the needs of patients and other stakeholders in the healthcare industry by championing treatments, while striving for pioneering products, practices, technology, and ideas.

"The U.S. healthcare system has focused much of its efforts on treatment of late-stage chronic disease, a costly and inefficient method that fails to take advantage of emerging technologies that enable more personalized, predictive and preventative approach to medicine," explains Dr. Snyderman. "It is my belief that through prospective approaches to care, we have the unique opportunity to help repair and reshape an injured healthcare system, ultimately generating a natural shift toward improved quality of care and significantly lower treatment costs. I deeply appreciate Frost & Sullivan's recognition of the importance of this transformative approach to healthcare."

The evening will feature pre- and post-networking opportunities, as healthcare industry thought leaders, community directors, and senior managers unite to applaud and celebrate each others' efforts to transform the industry. Frost & Sullivan will recognize companies, products, processes, and executives that have achieved world-class performance within their segment of the healthcare industry. Throughout the evening, Frost & Sullivan will honor Award recipients for demonstrating excellence and innovation in such areas as cardiovascular devices, medical imaging informatics, personalized medicine, neurology, and oncology, among other areas.

Dr. Snyderman is the founder of Proventys, a healthcare technology company committed to advancing personalized medicine through validated predictive diagnostics delivered at the point of care. The company's proprietary software platform enhances physicians' decision-making and provides an individualized, tailored approach to healthcare delivery. This results in higher quality, cost effectiveness, and better outcomes for patients.

"We are pleased with the opportunity to recognize a healthcare industry leader like Dr. Snyderman," offers Frost & Sullivan's Director of Healthcare Research Monali Patel Shastry. "It is my pleasure to distinguish his commitment to the overall improvement of treatment, disease management, and patient outcomes."

The Awards banquet will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the San Antonio Westin Riverwalk Hotel, located at 420 W. Market St., San Antonio, Texas 78205.
