Date:11/11/2008

With a commitment to helping seniors and their families understand their Medicare benefits and options, HealthCare Partners Medical Group and Affiliated Physicians is hosting eight "Knowing Your Medicare Benefits for 2009" comparison presentations during November in communities throughout Los Angeles County.

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) November 11, 2008 - With a commitment to helping seniors and their families understand their Medicare benefits and options, HealthCare Partners Medical Group and Affiliated Physicians is hosting eight "Knowing Your Medicare Benefits for 2009" comparison presentations during November in communities throughout Los Angeles County.
The no-cost sales presentations--coinciding with the November 15-December 31 Medicare Open Enrollment time period--are meant to help seniors learn about the 2009 Medicare benefits and their Medicare Advantage Plan options. Seniors and their families and guests will have a chance to compare and contrast various health plan options that are available to Medicare-eligible individuals.
The "Knowing Your Medicare Benefits for 2009" presentations will be held in senior centers and community centers throughout Greater Los Angeles. The presentations will feature information about Original Medicare, as well as discussions about Medicare benefits and Medicare Advantage Plans--managed care plans that may offer Medicare-eligible individuals additional coordinated care services at no extra cost. Representatives from many of the Medicare Advantage health plans that HealthCare Partners doctors accept will give short presentations and be on hand to answer questions about their plans and other Medicare benefits.

Representatives from the nonprofit Center for Health Care Rights in Los Angeles and the Social Security Administration will also be present at some locations.

Light refreshments will be served and attendees will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
According to Lynda Carre', Director of Communications and Marketing for HealthCare Partners, the "Knowing Your Medicare Benefits for 2009" community presentations are one more way that HealthCare Partners strives to maintain its standing as one of the top-rated medical groups in the Los Angeles area. For the past five years, the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) has rated HealthCare Partners in the top 20 percent in the entire State of California, for Patient Satisfaction, Clinical Excellence, and the use of Information Technology to support safer patient care. The IHA is a not-for-profit, statewide healthcare collaborative that seeks to improve the quality of healthcare in California through special projects, policies, and education.

"At HealthCare Partners, we consider the 'Knowing Your Medicare Benefits' gatherings, a valuable community service that provides important information, at convenient times and locations, to help seniors navigate the often confusing array of Medicare benefits and related plans," said Carre'. "The presentations will be conducted in an informal setting where everyone can ask questions and take away information to make the best choices for their particular needs."

The presentations are open to all seniors and their guests. Those interested in attending any of the presentations can call HealthCare Partners at 1.888.715.4922 or visit healthcarepartners.com for more information.
