Healthcare Facilities Focusing on Affordability, Dependability
Date:3/31/2009

With the economy in a decline, many healthcare facilities are providing patients with safe, reliable care using affordable medical equipment from DRE.

(Vocus) March 31, 2009 -- Faced with an unrelenting economic outlook, many surgery centers and hospitals are saving money by relying on dependable professionally refurbished medical equipment from DRE, a medical and surgical equipment supplier recently named by Business First of Louisville as a Company of the Year.

“Professionally refurbished and factory-new equipment from DRE is available for a fraction of the cost of new name-brand equipment,” said Justin Jeffries, DRE’s Marketing Director. “As a result, many hospitals and surgery centers are relying on our equipment to provide safe, complete care to their patients.”

According to Jeffries, the recession is making some patients unable to pay their healthcare bills, while others are postponing elective procedures. These and other factors are hammering the bottom lines of healthcare facilities.

“But even in this economic environment, healthcare facilities still need to provide safe, dependable care to their patients. DRE is responding to this need to save money by expanding the professionally refurbished products we offer,” said Jeffries.

To make sure surgery centers can provide the most up-to-date care, DRE is expanding its lineup of economically-priced refurbished products to include recent model surgical equipment. That includes late-model anesthesia machines such as the Drager Fabius GS, GE Aestiva 5 and GE Aespire.

“In addition to refurbished anesthesia products, DRE offers the DRE Integra AV-S, a fully-featured anesthesia workstation that costs as much as $20,000 less than competing factory-new machines. The Integra AV-S is backed by a manufacturer that has never discontinued service for its anesthesia machines or ventilators,” said Jeffries.

To provide savings to healthcare providers throughout the industry, DRE is increasing the types of products it offers. DRE recently began offering an all-in-one Stryker Endoscopy Tower that provides visualization and documentation of endoscopic procedures, and will soon begin selling a variety of endoscopes and laproscopes.

“DRE is one of the country’s best-established medical equipment suppliers, which gives us access to a wealth of quality medical equipment,” said Jeffries. “As an example, we recently expanded our inventory to include factory-maintained Puritan Bennett 840 respiratory ventilators. Now we’re making the ventilators available to healthcare facilities for as much as half the cost of a new machine.”
