HealthTek Software Solutions Licenses First DataBank's OrderView Med Knowledge Base(TM) to Streamline Medication Selection, Management and Reconciliation

Enhanced technology solution is expected to meet growing demand for

reconciling medications across the healthcare continuum and broaden

adoption of CPOE

SAN BRUNO, Calif., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- First DataBank announced today that HealthTek Software Solutions has licensed First DataBank's OrderView Med Knowledge Base(TM), a computerized physician order entry (CPOE)-ready drug database designed for medication ordering and prescribing. OrderView will be integrated into RxReconcile(TM), HealthTek's medication reconciliation software solution. The licensing agreement further deepens the relationship between the two companies and demonstrates the widening use and acceptance of OrderView in medication reconciliation applications.

RxReconcile is a point-and-click software solution that automates the medication reconciliation process. It integrates medication reconciliation with the orders process, and eliminates redundancy, reduces errors and subsequent adverse drug events -- resulting in increased patient safety, improved patient outcomes and a tangible cost reduction. HealthTek embarked on the development of RxReconcile in response to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations' national safety standards requiring the accurate and complete reconciliation of medications across the continuum of care.
