HealthSmart Appoints Vincent W. Sowards as Assistant Vice President of Network Development

HealthSmart is pleased to announce that Vincent W. Sowards has joined the organization effective May 1, 2013. He will serve as Assistant Vice President of Network Development at the Company’s Eastern Region headquarters in Charleston, West Virginia.

Sowards comes to HealthSmart from Physician Services, LLC, d.b.a. 4MOST Health Networks. As its Executive Vice President, he directed all aspects of the Company’s business operations, including restructuring initiatives, product development and merger/acquisition relationships. He also oversaw network affairs, finance/accounting and human resources. Specific accomplishments include ensuring a 25% return annually for ten years and assisting in the successful acquisition of 4MOST.

In addition, Sowards has done extensive study on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on Preferred Provider Networks and managed care in general. With more than 17 years of healthcare experience and proven success in all aspects of provider relations, as well as expertise in network expansion, he will be a valuable addition HealthSmart’s senior management team.
