Date:6/4/2008

NEW YORK, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthSTAR Public Relations (HSPR), a full service agency dedicated solely to healthcare industry communications, has entered into a partnership agreement with GlobalCom PR-Network to extend the agency's international presence to all member states of the European Union, Asia Pacific, Latin America, South Africa, and the Russian Federation. Headquartered in Belgium, The GlobalCom network has more than 40 global partners and affiliated agencies.

According to GlobalCom's founding healthcare partner Martin Ellis, Chairman of London-based Medicom Group, the inclusion of HealthSTAR in the U.S. means that the network has the expertise to serve healthcare clients in all major markets of the world. "We believe that our unique offering is based on the specialization of all of our agencies in healthcare and we found HealthSTAR's approach encompassing policy, brand PR, advocacy, and media to be uniquely compatible with our global model," says Ellis.

According to HSPR President and Chief Executive Officer Helene Ellison, the alliance is part of a strategic growth plan for the agency. "We are very excited to join the GlobalCom PR network of independent agencies because of our shared commitment to the business and to providing superior client service. We think this will be an important competitive advantage for us over big agency conglomerates."

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in New York, HSPR employs more than 50 full-time client-service executives in Consumer Health, Rx and Device and Diagnostics with a system of measuring ROI metrics to support impact of PR on sales and commercial outcomes. The agency's business model combines advocacy and media relations to measurably increase brand share-of-voice in connection with clinical, regulatory and marketing milestones; and in coordination with medical education, promotion and direct-to-consumer advertising.
