HealthMapRx, Mirixa and the City of Asheville Announce New Partnership to Improve Health & Healthcare Savings of Beneficiaries With Chronic Diseases

RESTON, Va. and ASHEVILLE, N.C., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthMapRx LLC, Mirixa Corporation and the City of Asheville, North Carolina jointly announced today the launch of a new collaborative effort that will expand and support the administration of the Asheville Project(R). Asheville Project(R) programs designed to help city employees better manage chronic conditions, improve overall health, and lower healthcare costs, will be transitioned onto the MirixaPro(SM) platform, Mirixa's widely used web-based clinical platform. Current employee health improvement programs include diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol.

The Asheville Project(R) began in 1998 with 48 patients diagnosed with diabetes. Building on the success of the Ashville Project(R), HealthMapRx(TM) programs have over 80 employer sponsored health plans assisting thousands of patients throughout the country. This collaborative venture paves the way to rapidly expand the program beyond its impressive current levels, and enables pharmacists and other healthcare providers to provide enhanced patient care to an even greater number of patients living with chronic healthcare conditions. Locally, the City of Asheville's chronic care programs will be supported by Mirixa and HealthMapRx in conjunction with the Piedmont Pharmaceutical Care Network.
