Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 16, 2009 -- Sherif Abdou, MD, CEO of HealthCare Partners of Nevada, a Las Vegas healthcare organization, announced the acquisition of Fremont Medical Center, an independent medical group providing care for more than 300,000 patients annually in Southern Nevada.

HealthCare Partners of Nevada now owns and operates 22 medical facilities in the greater Las Vegas area. The transaction creates patient access to approximately 100 employed primary care physicians and 83 affiliated primary care physicians, and adds pediatric and obstetrics and gynecology services to the primary care services offered by HealthCare Partners of Nevada.

"Fremont Medical Center strengthens our geographic coverage in the greater Las Vegas area and expands our ability to provide quality, cost-effective healthcare for a growing number of Nevadans," said Dr. Abdou.

Greg Griffin, former CEO of Fremont Medical Center, and now Senior Vice President of Business Development for HealthCare Partners of Nevada, stated, "We are truly excited by the opportunities this strategic combination will provide for our patients and employees. As Las Vegas and the country prepare for a new direction in healthcare, we could not have associated with a more dynamic, quality-focused company than HealthCare Partners. Their proven, long-term commitment to prevention and evidenced based medicine was a perfect fit for Fremont Medical Center."
