Health Plans Increase Use of Health Incentives

Statement of Michael Dermer President and CEO, IncentOne

LYNDHURST, N.J., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following statement may be attributed to Michael Dermer, President and Chief Executive Officer of IncentOne:

The link between healthy behavior and lower health costs has never been

clearer; consequently, many forward-thinking employers and health plans

are offering incentives to their employees or members to encourage that

behavior. UnitedHealthcare has joined this progressive community by

announcing a pilot program to offer financial incentives for members who

participate in free health screenings and meet certain standards. The

health care community will follow this project with great interest, as we

anticipate that it will demonstrate how incentives can lower costs and

improve health and productivity.
