Date:4/26/2013

Lincoln, NE (PRWEB) April 26, 2013

To help healthcare professionals and first responders stay abreast of the latest developments in healthcare continuing education and aware of the education requirements of the fastest-growing healthcare careers, Health Education Solutions (HES), a leading provider of online healthcare certification courses, today released a new website special section: Trends in Health Education – 2013 News and Resources. This series of educational articles provides insight into the trends that are driving the field of healthcare education.

“As the healthcare field quickly expands and technology continues to evolve the way health education is delivered, healthcare professionals will need to remain agile in the face of these changes,” said Terri McKinney, president of HES. “Staying informed about current trends in health education is one of the most important ways these professionals can prepare themselves to thrive in the future.”

The new special section, focused on trends in health education (2013), features some informative details about the future of health training. For example:

  •     Ten out of the 20 fastest-growing jobs are in the healthcare industry, according to statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). These careers have varying degrees of educational requirements, from a high school diploma to a post-graduate degree, offering individuals new to the field or transitioning within the field a variety of educational options for career entry.
  •     In 2013, learning will enter the mobile realm. According to AMA Enterprise, a division of the American Management Association, adult learning programs will become increasingly “blended,” using online approaches, social media and mobile technology to engage learners and maximize training opportunities in flexible and nontraditional work environments.

Highlighting current trends in health education, the articles discuss the impact of technology on career training as well as the education and training needs for the careers that are leading the field in growth. The new special section can be found in HES’ research library at HealthEdSolutions.com.

HES offers a variety of online healthcare certification courses for healthcare professionals and first responders who are seeking a convenient way to expand their knowledge base and earn necessary certifications. An online advanced cardiac life support course and a web-based pediatric advanced life support course enable students to earn initial certification or recertification. HES also offers basic life support, stroke, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED), bloodborne pathogens and first aid training.

These online courses feature self-paced modules, which enable students with flexible or nontraditional schedules to complete certification requirements at their own pace and in their own time. Practice tests are also available for advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) courses.

More information about healthcare education courses, current healthcare career trends and professional development opportunities is available in HES’ online resource library. To access these resources, or to learn more about online certification, visit HealthEdSolutions.com.
