Date:12/8/2009

Health care professionals have access to eight new courses to enhance their skills and complete professional development requirements.

Lincoln, NE (Vocus) December 8, 2009 -- Health Education Solutions (HES) announced a significant expansion of its online course offerings to include eight courses developed by the American Heart Association. In addition to HES’ own online Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses and certifications, HES now offers:

Heartsaver® First Aid Online
Heartsaver® CPR & AED Online Part 1
Heartsaver® First Aid Online With CPR & AED Part 1
Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Online
Acute Stroke Online
Stroke Prehospital Care Online
Stroke Hospital-Based Care Online
BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1

All of these courses are offered online and delivered in real time over the Web. They do not require a CD, a DVD, or time-consuming downloads. Students can begin courses immediately after registering and progress through the lessons at their own pace, making these courses convenient for busy professionals.

For the courses that require skills testing for successful completion, a comprehensive online directory helps individuals find the most convenient testing center where they can earn their American Heart Association completion card or certificate. Students also have access to Health Education Solutions customer care specialists to answer any questions they might have.

“Health Education Solutions is excited about the introduction of these high-quality courses developed by the American Heart Association, a world leader in emergency cardiovascular care resources,” said David King, president of Health Education Solutions. “Our goal is to continue to grow the number of e-learning opportunities that we offer not only to health care professionals, but also to individuals who want to be better prepared for a medical emergency.”

American Heart Association online courses incorporate interactive questions and video segments to reinforce learning and apply techniques to real situations. Course content also provides remediation through challenge questions, skills practice, and skills testing.
