Health Care Service Corporation Ranked in Top 10 for Executive Women and for People With Disabilities

CHICAGO, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), which operates the Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, has been declared by DiversityInc as one of the "The Top 50 Companies for Diversity" for its fourth year in a row. Moreover, HCSC is listed as one the "Top 10 Companies for Executive Women" and one of the "Top 10 Companies for People with Disabilities."

"This company gets excellent grades for its CEO commitment, corporate and organizational communications, and supplier diversity," said the editors of DiversityInc. "The company also gets a perfect score on diversity training, has unbiased retention in both the work force and management (meaning retention is level across race/ethnicity and gender), and offers training to its minority-and women-owned suppliers."

Judges for the competition used a metrics system to review 352 applications for the awards. Each consisted of a survey with more than 200 questions and was only available to companies with more than 1,000 U.S. employees.
