Health & Sports: Former NBA Star John Salley Endorses STEMTech Stem Cell Nutrition Products

San Clemente, California (Vocus) February 10, 2010 -- Former NBA basketball star John Salley is now using and officially endorsing the innovative stem cell nutrition products of industry leader STEMTech HealthSciences.

Salley was prompted to join the 4-year old multi-national company after learning about numerous scientific studies pointing to the benefits of stem cell nutrition and discovering that the company’s mission fits his own personal goal of improving modern-day society’s health through plant-based nutrition.

“The STEMTech products do something very different from anything else I’ve ever seen,” said Salley. “Instead of nourishing existing tissue, they support the natural release and movement of your adult stem cells – the ‘master’ cells produced by your bone marrow. Recent studies have found that your adult stem cells can become heart cells, liver cells, pancreatic cells, muscle cells, brain cells and more. In essence they act as your body’s ‘natural renewal system’ – the health implications are astounding!”

The Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers all enjoyed Salley during his 16-year career as a power forward and center starting in 1986. In basketball circles, the 6’11” Salley is best remembered for garnering – as he puts it – “four championship rings, with three different teams, in three different decades and two different millennia.”

The multi-faceted graduate of Georgia Tech’s College of Management is well known off the basketball court too. In addition to hosting and appearing in a number of popular TV shows and movies including Hollywood Squares, I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!, Bad Boys and Confessions of a Shopaholic, he co-hosts a show on Fox Sports Network, has his own healthy organic food line and works with charities such as the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (pcrm.org) and Operation Smile.

“Every day we see our Stem Cell Nutrition products making a difference in quality of life as it relates to health,” said STEMTech’s CEO, Ray C. Carter, Jr., “but our groundbreaking product category and the science behind it is so new that it takes time to educate the consumer public. We are thrilled to have someone of John’s quality to assist in getting the word out and we look forward to working with him.”
