Healdsburg District Hospital Welcomes Theresa L. Colosi, M.D., to their Orthopaedic and Total Joint Program

Dr. Theresa L. Colosi will be joining the staff of Healdsburg District Hospital’s orthopedic and total joint program in July, offering her expertise in hand and upper extremity and orthopaedic oncology surgery. A native of Northern California, Dr. Colosi received her M.D. from the University of Louisville and completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at The University of Texas in San Antonio. She then completed her fellowship in orthopaedic oncology from the New York-based Sloan–Kettering Cancer Center, rated first in cancer research and treatment in the world. Dr. Colosi is board certified in orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Colosi is excited about working with veteran orthopaedist and colleague Dr. John Tomasin. Doctors Colosi and Tomasin both share the vision of working with the HDH orthopaedic and total joint program to provide Northern Sonoma County with a diverse range of quality orthopaedic services.

Healdsburg Hospital’s new CEO, Nancy Schmid, states, “We are proud to have Dr. Colosi work with us. She has an incredible educational and career background, and will offer the only orthopaedic oncology services from the Golden Gate to the Oregon border.”

Dr. Colosi’s list of achievements is extensive and impressive. She has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California, from 2007 to 2012, and is registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Dr. Colosi began her private practice in 1998 in the Los Gatos, San Jose area.

Dr. Colosi will greatly complement the Orthopaedic and Total Joint Program at HDH. As a recipient of HealthGrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award™ for three years in a row, HDH has continuously ranked among the top 10 percent in the nation for joint replacement. In addition to receiving a five-star rating for total joint, hip, and knee replacement, the program boasts a comprehensive in-house rehabilitation program that helps ensure its’ patients a better recovery. HDH has been the proud recipient of Avatar International’s award for Exceeding Patient Expectations for two years in a row.
