150+ Nursing Homes in California will simultaneously open their doors

Wednesday to Trick or Treaters and the media are invited to cover the festivities

REDDING, Calif., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- It's not every day pirates and gypsies visit a nursing home. Nurse administrators don't often see miniature witches and 3-foot-tall bumblebees, and little goblins rarely get to meet 90-year-old soldiers or 80-year-young ballerinas! "So we're inviting children to visit their participating neighborhood nursing home between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Halloween to trick or treat, play games, show off their costumes, and just generally have fun." "With the neighborhood children coming by, it gives our elder citizens the opportunity to share in the Halloween fun."

Children between the ages of 5 and 12, along with their parents, are invited to trick or treat at participating facilities from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on October 31st. There will be treats, games, costume prizes and other fun activities. For more information call a nursing home on the attached list. "This is such a fun time for little kids," Turner said.
