Date:9/16/2009

BRAINTREE, Mass. and WEST WARWICK, R.I., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Haemonetics Corporation (NYSE: HAE) announced today that it has signed a comprehensive software agreement with Blood Centers of America, Inc. ("BCA"), a cooperative of community blood centers. The contract provides multiple incentives for BCA-member blood centers to use Haemonetics' suite of innovative blood management software products, including Prelude and Interlude, part of the Haemonetics' integrated Symphony suite of products, as well as eQue(R) automated interview and assessment donor screening system.

"We are delighted with this agreement which provides tangible benefits for current and potential customers," said Janet Conneely, Vice President and General Manager of Haemonetics' Software Solutions Division. "We know that our customers are challenged to improve the donor experience, throughput, cost per collection and overall resource productivity of their blood centers. As the global leader in blood management solutions, we offer a diverse suite of products that includes devices, information technology platforms, and business services for blood collectors. Our software offerings are comprehensive and can help blood centers achieve their objectives."

Charlie Mosher, President and CEO of BCA, commented on the new agreement. "This is a novel agreement for our membership. We know our membership is challenged to find software that will work in their specific environment, and these products are configurable and flexible to meet the needs of our diverse membership. Many of our members are trying to replace multiple legacy systems, so finding products that are integrated and designed to stay current with future regulatory and market changes was important to us."
