HRH The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron of The Lullaby Trust, Will Join 250 Health Visitors Who Have Helped Support Bereaved Parents Over the Last 25 Years
Date:11/26/2013

(PRWEB) November 27, 2013

The reception is to mark the 25th anniversary of The Lullaby Trust’s CONI program and to recognize the hard work of these highly experienced health visitors who offer this service throughout the country. CONI provides support to families who are looking forward to a new arrival, but who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby in the past.

Francine Bates OBE, Chief Executive of The Lullaby Trust said, “We were delighted to have our Patron, The Duchess of Gloucester to share this special occasion with us. The programme is funded entirely through donations and she has helped enormously to raise public awareness of this unique and vital service.

“Research shows that CONI prevents subsequent deaths and without the support it provides for some of the UK’s most vulnerable babies it would be impossible to achieve The Lullaby Trust’s goal to halve the rate of SIDS by 2020.

“I would also like to thank our valued industry supporter, The Gro Company, and in particular the Company’s Managing Director, Christian Jones, for making this event possible, with their continued support.”

Through CONI, The Lullaby Trust provides funds for specialist-monitoring equipment and provides health advice and reassurance along the way until the new baby is six months old. This programme has supported over 20,000 families in the last 25 years.
Alison Waite, National CONI Co-ordinator, added: “We are so very grateful to the CONI health visitors for giving us their time and support over the years. The CONI guests are so excited for 3rd December – The Duchess of Gloucester’s presence recognises their contribution to the CONI programme.
